Welcome to the APDA Parkinson’s Support Group of Green Valley/Sahuarita

If you or someone you know has Parkinson’s Disease (PD) and you live in Southeastern Arizona, we hope you’ll take some time to see what we have to offer.

The mission of the Parkinson’s Support Group of Green Valley/Sahuarita is to offer information, encouragement, and friendship to people with Parkinson’s and their caregivers. We strive to help members stay mentally stimulated, physically active, and socially connected while they deal with the effects of the disease. We also seek to raise community awareness of Parkinson’s and contribute to research for a cure.

We have many programs that support our mission, including

            • Monthly Educational Meetings (Sept-May)
            • Separate monthly support group meeting for Men with PD,
              Women with PD, and Caregivers,
            • Free M-W-F exercise classes and
            • Respite Care.

We invite you to look at our Activities Calendar and download our brochure. If you would like to become a member of the Parkinson’s Support Group, please click on the Contact Us link and complete the Membership Form (no dues required).  You do not have to make this journey alone.

Thank You Green Valley & Sahuarita!
“Wow! What a fabulously successful Activity Day we had!” declared Board President Carroll Morris.  Community participation and support of our efforts to raise money for Parkinson’s research far surpassed our expectation.  At the May potluck social last week, 1st Vice President and Activity Day Coordinator Wayne Williams presented ADPA Coordinator Cynthia Holmes, PhD, with  a check for $15,000.  One hundred percent of the funds raised will be used for Parkinson’s research.

Williams said he would like to recognize each person and business that contributed to the success of Activity Day but was sure he would miss someone since so many helped make the fundraiser a success.  Special thanks were extended to the following corporate sponsors:  Country Fair White Elephant, TEVA Pharmaceuticals, Santa Rita Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Casa Community Services, Valor HospiceCare, Aristocare, AccentCare, LifeVibes Spa@Madera, and KGVY.
